Michael Cunningham, PhD of Psychology, CDP
Michael earned his Doctorate of Philosophy with Distinction in Psychology (Conferred 1999) from Trinity University and the Breining Institute, College of Advanced Study of Addictive Disorders. Michael began his career in addiction counseling in 1997, counseling individuals in crisis intervention at the Washington State Alcohol/Drug help Line. Michael then moved to Taos New Mexico where he was the Director of the Extended Care Residential Program for Vista Taos Renewal Center. He developed, implemented and facilitated co-occurring disorder therapeutic treatment programs for 90-day Extended Care inpatient residents and outpatient groups. He moved to Washington State in 2001 and became the Director of Clinical Services for Triumph Treatment Services where he administered and monitored all aspects of the Chemical Dependency programs. In 2003 Michael became the Chemical Dependency Program Director for Comprehensive Dependency Health Services, serving in this capacity for 10 ½ years. His number of certifications and accomplishments in the addiction field are too numerous to list, but he is one of the most educated and experienced addiction counselors in the Pacific Northwest.
Michael joined our Behavioral Health Team in 2014 and currently serves as the off-site director and off-site clinical supervisor.
