Washington State Hit Hard by Opioid Epidemic

Opioid Epidemic Does Not Discriminate

In 2014 more than 600 people died from opioid overdoses in Washington State. Opioids are medications that relieve pain, such as hydrocodone, codeine, morphine and heroin.

The opioid epidemic doesn’t discriminate. Addicts are coming from all walks of life. Law enforcement officials, in the region of the Tri Cities in Washington, recognize that many law-abiding citizens begin the road of addiction through obtaining legal pain pill prescriptions. When the prescribed pills run out, they often seek other alternatives for their addictions. Which often leads to the use of heroin.

The epidemic is reaching alarming levels across the nation.  Each day 78 people die from opioid-related overdoses in the United States. Treatment for heroin can be difficult because, unlike some drugs, dependence is physical and mental.

Ideal Option’s Addiction Treatment Medical Centers work to combat this epidemic primarily by utilizing Suboxone. This Medication Assisted Treatment program provides those struggling from an opioid addiction with an opportunity to get their lives back.
